In 1974, Dr. Sherwood Rowland, a young…scientist, warned the world that…man-made chemicals found in aerosol sprays and refrigerators, were damaging the earth’s ozone layer. It took 13 years of bitter debate among governments, business leaders, scientists and concerned citizens before the world accepted his findings and moved to ban these chemicals through an international treaty, the Montreal Protocol, in 1987…a new documentary…explores how the United States led the way in seeking a solution to the ozone problem.
