getting that appearances matter, but really it’s crazy to me, that the Obamas are under so much scrutiny re a vacation that is not really a vacation, at least for him.

more on the topic, here.

it matters to me that as horrible as things are, there is some feeling of keeping calm and carrying on. pushing forward. having a moment to effing think for a second about how he can lead in a way that is best for the country especially as he is struggling with his decisions and his presidential facade right now. there is not much he can do to please the masses on either side of whatever fake lines are drawn up in this country. he needs to zone out if he can for a half an hour on the damn golf course, think about who he needs to hire, who he needs to fire; think about how he has managed the successes he has had, how to better trumpet them.

he needs to come up with a better plan for dealing with the last horrifying vestiges of the vast right-wing conspiaracy the Clintons acknowledged. he needs to talk to the country. i think he is disappointed in the USA. i think the job is not what he thought it was going to be. i think the fact that the job is not what he thought it was going to be has nothing to do with how he can and will succeed for the next two and probably next six years.

President Obama has lost his voice. I want to yell at him: GET IT TOGETHER. That will not help. I want him to yell at us: GET IT TOGETHER. That just might help.
